Rick’s construction experience began in the early 1980’s when he was a construction laborer for a family-owned business. After completing multiple drafting, design, and CAD courses, his career direction became clear. In 1984 he began working at Richard Sly Architect Inc. in Lorain, Ohio as a draftsperson.
Rick’s design experience ranges from residential to institutional projects, but the real substance of his design career began in 1986 when he joined Jennings and Churella Construction Company in Wellington, Ohio. As Senior Designer at J & C he was responsible for the design and production of site development, foundation systems, and architectural and structural construction documents. He was also responsible for the preparation of all applications and drawings covered under the Ohio EPA General Permit Storm Water Pollution Prevention Act. In 1999 Rick joined R.E. Warner & Associates in Westlake, Ohio as a senior project designer. He then joined Simonson Construction Services Inc. in 2000 and is currently the design department manager.
With Rick’s extensive CAD knowledge and two decades of construction and design related experience, he has become the final missing piece of the multi-faceted Simonson puzzle.
