Project Details: The Ashland County Community Foundation provided a $125,000 capstone grant to create a gathering space on donated property. This space became known as the Foundation Plaza.
The Foundation Plaza is used for live music, farmers’ markets, and a variety of other social gatherings. This space provides a family-friendly environment and is a vital piece of Ashland’s revitalization efforts.
Given the nature of this unique project, the Foundation Plaza was recognized in 2022 as the Best Downtown Placemaking award at the 2022 Heritage Ohio Annual Conference. This space was made possible by collaborative efforts of Ashland Main Street, Ashland County Community Foundation, and local contractors.
