Ashland City Schools – Keith Wygant Memorial Fieldhouse

To better accommodate its student athletes, Ashland City Schools set out to construct a multi-functional, multi-purpose athletic facility. With the support of public and private funds, the Ashland City Schools – Keith Wygant Memorial Fieldhouse was built.

About the Space:

The pre-engineered metal building’s focal point is three multi-purpose courts in the main gymnasium. A suspended track on the second story of the facility, built from conventional steel, lines the interior perimeter. The first floor of the fieldhouse also includes a weight room, training/coaches’ rooms, two locker rooms with single-stall showers, storage facilities, a concession stand and batting cages. In addition to the suspended track, the second floor has a full-sized varsity wrestling area, classroom, mechanic room, and storage area.

In addition to the Ashland City Schools fieldhouse, Simonson’s scope of work included ADA access to the school’s football stadium, new stadium light fixtures and sound system, middle school to stadium sidewalks, and a new Walk of Champions archway.

The facility was constructed within a tight space, requiring carefully planned logistics and material handling.
